Asociation of Chefs and Pastry Chefs of the Czech Republic its voluntary nonpolitical organization was established in 1990. Association brings together primarily chefs and pastry chefs working in hotels and restaurants, as well as vocational teachers, students and other professionals and companies from the industry. The AKC (Association of Chefs and Pastry Chefs) is currently having eight regional offices, over 800 chefs and confectioners from across the Czech Republic. This modern community based on a historical tradition, dealing with gastronomy and in its wider context and supports all forms of cooperation that lead to the achievement of its main objectives. Among other things, organizes for its members as well as public gastronomic events - lectures, educational seminars, trainings and competitions with local as well as international participation, exhibitions and other cultural events.
One of the major events organized by AKC is competition called Chef of the Year, Confectioner of the Year, etc. National teams - junior and senior - and regional teams AKC CR successfully participate regularly in international culinary and pastry competitions and a global evaluations.
